Art and entrepreneurship have many things in common: it takes innovative ideas, great commitment and, last but not least, perseverance to successfully reach your goal. Under the motto “The Art of Entrepreneurship”, EY is once again honoring the best owner-managed companies in Germany this year. Companies that work every day to deliver top performance for their customers and their own employees – in order to be both economically successful and to live up to the social responsibility that entrepreneurship entails.
But what makes successful entrepreneurs? Among other things, they impress with their vision and expertise in a wide range of areas and also manage the consequences of geopolitical crises for their own company. At the same time, they keep an eye on the potential impact of their actions on climate change and must also find solutions to the shortage of skilled workers. EY wants to make these extraordinary achievements visible.
This year’s award winners will be announced on November 7, 2024 at the Motorwerk in Berlin. In addition, polar explorer and expedition leader Arved Fuchs will share his valuable insights into climate change and talk about the resulting consequences and challenges at the award ceremony. The award ceremony will be hosted by journalist and entrepreneur Judith Rakers.
20 companies made it to the final of the competition this year, including Carlotta Baumann from Finetech GmbH und Co KG. “Being nominated in the “Innovation” category makes me very proud. For me, the nomination is recognition that we are on the right track by investing in our own innovative strength. First and foremost, we see these investments as an opportunity to be open to new technologies and processes in all areas of our company. There is no alternative to this path. As an entrepreneur, I am convinced of this,” comments Carlotta Baumann, CEO of Finetech GmbH & Co KG, on reaching the final round.
The awards are presented in the categories “Family Business”, “Innovation”, “Sustainability” and “Young Companies”. One of the winners will represent Germany at the “EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025” in Monaco.
A jury of recognized experts determines the winners based on four key criteria: “Entrepreneurship”, which represents entrepreneurial thinking and action, “Purpose”, which reflects the company’s purpose and vision, “Growth”, which stands for growth and future potential, and “Impact”, which includes impact and corporate responsibility.
