At Finetech, sustainability is part of who we are. With our Environmental Management System (EMS), we are actively reducing our environmental impact and aligning our operations with international best practices. A major milestone in this journey has already been reached: we’ve successfully achieved ISO 14001 certification at our Berlin site — a strong validation of our structured and committed approach to environmental management.
One of our top priorities is conserving natural resources. We’ve already switched to renewable energy with our own PV system and are focused on reducing our consumption of paper, electricity, natural gas and water. By tracking usage and implementing practical measures, we’re cutting waste and improving efficiency across the company.
Waste management is another key focus area. We’ve put a systematic separation process in place and maintain a full waste register. We’re also working to avoid waste altogether — whether by eliminating single-use plastics or reducing packaging materials wherever possible.
Sustainability also guides how we design and produce our machines and services. Our goal is to make them more even durable, repairable, upgradeable, and energy-efficient — with full implementation targeted by 2028. At the same time, we’re encouraging more sustainable employee mobility by promoting greener travel options for commutes and business trips.
In addition, we’re taking a broader view by integrating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into our company culture. Our aim is to align fully with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and expand communication efforts around these topics both internally and externally by 2026–27.
To stay accountable, we’ve set clear, measurable environmental targets. By the end of 2025, we aim to reduce paper use by 10% and electricity consumption by 5%. We’re also cutting back on natural gas used for heating through technical improvements and employee awareness campaigns. In terms of waste reduction, we’ve already eliminated PET bottles and reduced our use of reusable glass bottles by 50% through the rollout of sustainable water dispensers. Additionally, we’re working to reduce canteen waste with improved composting and organic waste separation.
Achieving ISO 14001 certification is just the beginning. With strong goals and a committed team, we’re continuing to build a more sustainable, responsible future — step by step.
